Do you have any faith...YES you do!

Simple Definition of Faith: is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Hello Friends! I pray and hope ALL is well with each and everyone of you. Things in my world as of lately have been very hectic to say the least lol. So the Radio interview I did with The Anti-War Activist Cindy Sheehan went very good, probably one of the smoothest shows I have done thus far.
The following day on Sunday the 26th of May I attended the Monthly PEACE VIGIL courtesy of the wonderful folks of the OWL CREEK GAZETTE MAGAZINE. The Peace Vigil went great, lots of diverse, interesting people attended and of course I had to bring my lil teacup Rex along lol. Cindy and Her team attended the Vigil also. NONE of this would have been possible if it were not for Don and Jan Stover the Editors/Publishers of The Owl Creek Gazette Magazine, for it was them that not only provided a way for Cindy and her Tour de Peace to come here but they also connected myself with her and the Tour de peace team. So BIG THANKS AND HUGS TO DON AND JAN STOVER!
www.owlcreekgazette.com Moving on to the topic of this blog, as you probably already guessed it is about FAITH...above is a simple definition of what faith is...now Some of YOU may say you don't have faith...well here is a generic example of faith in action....Say every morning when you wake..you use the restroom and the toilet flushes properly....Well without realizing it YOU used faith...YOU had faith that the toilet would flush proper after use. Or without hesitation Most of us jump in our vehicles expecting them to start right? OK then That's another generic example of faith...YOU catching on now? I hope so. Now my point finally lol, I have let my faith dampen over time lately....until recently GOD gave me a big faith boost...even on horrible days where I can barely walk or function, I STILL keep faith that no matter what the physical eyes see MY faith kicks in  and reminds me NOTHING is forever while we are still here on earth that is. NO matter what your belief system is, FAITH is something WE all should have and actually use it and not merely say it. I personally have faith that the fibromyalgia and other health issues I live with will be healed/cured...and not years from now but no later than the end of this year even. I am going to attach some VERY faith boosting videos to this blog to help YOU...I know if you're reading this...it is not by accident but by divine appointment :-) So NO MATTER WHAT your beliefs are FAITH works...atleast for the GOOD AND POSITIVE...not to have faith for something negative that would be just flat out ignorant honestly...but either way YOU get my point...SO each video ON THIS blog is carefully picked by myself...watch each one and then recollect on what you just viewed/read and SEE how YOU feel and such.... Truly,DENNIS KELLY

DO YOU LIKE COFFEE?

I wake up some mornings and sit and have my coffee and look out at my beautiful garden, and I go, 'Remember how good this is. Because you can lose it.'--Jim Carrey

Hi, Friends...It has been a beautiful day out....full of sunshine but still a bit chilly to me. But I am not complaining at all because I am thankful for even the sunshine lol. Not too much of an eventful day today in my world. I just started quarter 3 today, In the Yoga Regiment that I have started. My little 7 yr old nephew sam attended today also and again lol...this has been his 4th session. I find it very sweet and cute that the lil guy is truly interested in yoga and looks forward to each yoga class....keep in mind he is the only child in the private class I attend lol. Today we did a lot of different poses....but I will save all that for a yoga blog in the near future. Today I would like to focus on one of my addictions...COFFEE lol! Yes that's right I love me some good ol' java everyday. My favorite Local place for coffee is Adam Bros. Coffee&Music house...they give starbucks a run for their money so to speak lol..Adam Bros. Coffee should be nationwide...GOOD STUFF!  Below is a study done by an M.D. about health and coffee. I like what he has to say so that is why I am sharing it with YOU :-)

Coffee and health: What does the research say?
What does the research say about coffee and health? Is coffee good or bad for You and me?
Coffee has a long history of being blamed for many ills — from the humorous "It will stunt your growth" to the not-so-humorous claim that it causes heart disease and cancer. But recent research indicates that coffee may not be so bad after all. So which is it — good or bad? The best answer may be that for most people the health benefits outweigh the risks. Recent studies have generally found no connection between coffee and an increased risk of cancer or heart disease. Why the apparent reversal in the thinking about coffee? Earlier studies didn't always take into account that known high-risk behaviors, such as smoking and physical inactivity, tended to be more common among heavy coffee drinkers at that time. However, the research appears to bear out some risks. High consumption of unfiltered coffee is associated with mild elevations in cholesterol levels. And another study found that two or more cups of coffee a day can increase the risk of heart disease in people with a specific — and fairly common — genetic mutation that slows the breakdown of caffeine in the body. So, how quickly you metabolize coffee may affect your health risk. Newer studies have also shown that coffee may have benefits, such as protecting against Parkinson's disease, type 2 diabetes and liver cancer. And it has a high content of antioxidants. But this doesn't mean you should disregard the old maxim "Everything in moderation." Although coffee may not be very harmful, other beverages such as milk and juice contain nutrients that coffee does not. Also, another study shows that men that drink approx: 6 cups of coffee per day have a 60% LESS chance of getting prostate cancer. Finally, heavy caffeine use — on the order of four to seven cups of coffee a day — can cause problems such as restlessness, anxiety, irritability and sleeplessness, particularly in susceptible individuals. Answers provided by Mr. D. Hensrud, M.D.
I totally agree with Mr. Hensrud study, but personally I think coffee is also a good cleanser in soap due the anti-oxidents and a great scrubber for those sore rough feet.

Dogs are better than medicine!!

"If you cannot do great things, do small things in a big way.'--N.Hill

Good day friends! I am blogging today about dogs and how they are more than just great pets and family members. I have posted photos of my dogs<kids> for you all to see who I come home to daily. After a tough day these three sweeties are at the door with a loving greet.

A recent UK study reveals that owning a dog is good for your health. And having a pet dog improves your physical and mental wellbeing more than having a cat.

This is the conclusion of a study by a senior lecturer, Dr Deborah Wells, from the Canine Behaviour Centre of Queens University, Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Dr Wells has published her study in theBritish Journal of Health Psychology.

The study is a review of research papers that have explored the connection between domestic dog ownership and human wellbeing. In her research Dr Wells found papers that suggest domestic dog ownership can prevent people from getting ill, recover more quickly when they do fall ill, and give warning of early signs of cancer, seizures and hypoglycaemia.

She also explored the research into dogs and human psychological health, including the therapeutic role that dogs play in aiding the disabled and also in hospitals, prisons and residential homes.

An Israeli research paper said it was likely that animal companions helped people withschizophrenia feel motivated and calmer. And another UK study suggested that the companionship of a dog helped children with chronic illnesses endure painful treatments.

Some of the evidence was found to be weak, but in other areas Dr Wells found strong evidence to suggest that dog owners have lower blood pressure, lower cholesterol, and are less likely to have minor and serious health problems.

In one paper dated 1985, Dr Wells found that dog owners had an 8.6 higher one year survival rate after a heart attack compared to people who did not have a dog.

Dr Wells suggests there could be a number of reasons for the health benefits of dog ownership. There is the more obvious direct effect of increased physical activity, but then there are also indirect effects such as that brought by increased social contact and the possibility that the human-dog bond provides a psychological buffer against stress.

                                                                      AFFIRMATION FOR TODAY
"You are you're own work of art"
Today reflect upon the meaning of your life.
Harbor within a vision of your  most perfect self, a dream of what you could become.
Today pursue this vision and work toward making your dream a reality.
In this way, you will give meaning to your life. Like an artist painting a picture, pause,
step back from the canvas and consider what needs to be done.
This will be a day of reflection. As you pursue to make your life a work of art,
so may these moments of contemplation help you to turn back to the canvas
of life to paint a portrait of your most perfect self.
This day and everyday hereafter,  hold before your eyes the vision of what your becoming.
Thanks friends, Dennis

Comparing cat and dog ownership, Dr Wells found evidence that people who take cats and dogs from rescue centres reported reductions in minor health problems such as headaches, dizzy spells and colds as soon as one month after taking their new companion home. However, it was only those people who had taken dogs, as opposed to cats, that still had the improved health conditions up to ten months later.
